2006 BMW 3 25i E92 Automatic Coupe
This 2006 BMW 3 had 123.093 km at the time we bought it. Now, this car would be very typical purchase here in Australia. Vehicle has relativelygood service history, but it is already showing sign of problems down the road.
Engine did run, but it had a terrible clinging sound coming from the top side of the engine. That is a sign of a wear, problem with timing and possibleproblem with extensive deposit formation.
Vehicle was also suffering from high emissions. Hydro carbon (HC) value was around 400 ppm which is four times over approved level(European standard). It means in some cylinders combustion is not complete or/and catalytic converter is being poisoned with too muchoil and fuel deposits.
We decided to do more investigation to this vehicle to understand it’s condition.
